BIOGRAPHY

I am a Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist bridging clinical care between MKUH and OUH. I completed my training in the Oxford Deanery in 2021, and was lucky enough to complete a post-CCT EP Fellowship under Prof Kalyanan Shivkumar at UCLA, Los Angeles. There I was able to develop a wide breadth of EP and Devices with a keen focus on complex VT therapies. These included novel VT mapping techniques, hybrid surgical VT ablation and autonomic modulation therapy. I started my professional career as a Biochemist who migrated through Graduate-entry Medicine. These were sandwich by a PhD supervised by Prof David Lomas to dissect the cellular signalling process involved in protein misfolding in health and disease. This provided a strong foundation for my career as a Clinician Scientist. I have experience in molecular cell biology and in particular human stem cell derived cardiomyocytes and optogenetic control in patient with inherited channelopathy and cardiomyopathy. My clinical research interests are driven by mechanistic understanding of arrhythmia and how best to identify and risk stratify a personalised approach. I have started to work on machine learning technique to inform new workflows which can best serve a complex individual patient.
